We are two months into being a family of five. Owen continues to be a blessing to us! He is a very laid back, content and happy baby. I am so very thankful for this as it makes caring for Ava and Emet much easier! He loves his baba (paci), his swing and being snuggled. He is wearing 0-3 month clothing and size 1 diapers. He recently slept 6.5 hours at night...we hope that this will continue! We are so blessed by this little boy and thankful for him. We go to the doctor next week and I will post his 2 month stats then!!!

My Long Lost Friends...
Yes, my running shoes are my "long lost friends." About half way through my pregnancy I stopped running. Yesterday I put on the shoes that I haven't run in for 6 months and got back to it. I must say, I loved it! Jessica and I ran together and she took it easy on me. (She is training for a half marathon next month and could have gone much faster than we ran.) I'm ready to be running again and looking forward to regular dates with my running shoes!!!
My kids have been wanting to go for a run and have been asking for weeks now. After my run with Jessica, I took the kids on a "run." We made it around the block. Fun times!

Lately...
I've been behind and so here is a snapshot of things that have been going on around our house "lately!"
The day we got back from North Carolina Ava was holding Owen on the couch. It didn't take long for her to fall asleep with him. We were all worn out after our quick trip to NC!
Since his first bottle, we have been able to leave him with babysitters twice.
We are thankful that he will take a bottle and that we have been able to have two dates!

Maybe I am a crazy mom, but I took all three of my kids to the
movies on Saturday. It was a special treat and we had a blast!

Neena...our WONDERFUL babysitter!
We love Neena and our kids love Neena. We are thankful to have someone we trust and that our kids love to come over so we can go out! Ava looked at me a few weeks ago and said, "you need to go on a date so Neena can come babysit us!" I love that they have so much fun with her and look forward to her coming over!

Sew Excited!!!
Before we moved, Sharon Tilley, a sweet lady from Gorman who means so much to our family, got a new sewing machine and graciously gave me her old one. I had never used a sewing machine and could barely sew a button back on. But, I took it and was so thankful to have one...at the time not knowing when I'd figure out how to use it. A few weeks ago I got inspired and decided it was time to learn how to operate the sewing machine. With Abbey's help (and I couldn't have done it without her) I learned how to use it and have completed my first projects! I've made burp cloths for my cousin (not pictured), our nephew Spencer and Owen. I must say, I am "sew" excited and look forward to many more fun little projects like these!

1 Month and First "Real" Bath
When we were in North Carolina Owen got his first bath in a tub. He wasn't very happy...but he smelled so good when he was done! He also turned 1 month old while we were there! We are thankful for a great first month (now 6 weeks...I'm a little late in posting) with our son. He is smiling now and does a great job supporting his head. He still loves to sleep a lot and enjoys his swing. Ava and Emet love their little brother and are great helpers! We went for Owen's one month check up last week...he is a healthy, growing boy!
1 Month Stats:

I'm taking an idea from Liz...here are all three of our babies at 1 month old...hope you don't mind Liz, but I thought it was so cute how you put all of your sweet babies' pictures up!

North Carolina Friends
While we were in North Carolina we were also able to visit with some of our good friends. It was great to see everyone, and even though the visits were short, I'm so thankful for them!
Murray Girls and Chasteen Kiddos
I love these girls and their Mommy (their Daddy too).
Laura (their Mommy) is one of my very good friends from Gorman.
Addi (beside Ava) was Ava's best buddy at Gorman.
We love them, are thankful for them and miss them so much.

We went to Wake Forest and saw the Bonnetts and Vivian. We also got to see Kenneth for a minute at the Seminary. I love and miss them so much. Kristen and Vivian were Ava's first babysitters. Kristen and Kenneth were also our first friends in Seminary. This family is so special to us and we are so thankful for them! Hayley and Elijah have grown up so much!
What can I say, these are "my girls." Chelsie and Brittney mean the world to me, Jon and our kids. They are like family to us. I love them so much and miss them like crazy!

Almost 24 Years...
Don was the pastor at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Durham for "Almost 24 Years." We had the privilege of traveling down to North Carolina for his retirement weekend. RBC did a great job on Saturday night sharing memories of Don and Scarlet. The service Sunday was amazing and memorable. I was thankful to be able to share in this special weekend...the entire family made it to Durham for this special time in the lives on Don and Scarlet. It was so very encouraging to see how much RBC loved Don and Scarlet. We know they have had a lasting impact on the lives of the people at Ridgecrest!
Getting ready to board the plane...Owen was an amazing little traveler!
The Past Few Weeks...
We have been very busy around our house the past few weeks...here is a little look at what we have been up to!
We had a day when it was 60 degrees...we took advantage of the warm weather and went out for a walk/bike ride/scooter ride. This was Emet's first time really riding his bike. He needed a lot of help. He hasn't quite mastered the pedals yet, so Jon did a lot of pushing!
