Our Journey Began

We left on August 16th for a 2 week whirl wind trip! What a blessing it was to travel back to North Carolina and South Carolina. We had a great time catching up with friends and family! Check out the beginning of our 2 week adventure!

On our way to the airport...Emet's first trip on a plane!
Ready to board
Ready to take off!
My big girl! She let out an excited squeal when we took off...so cute!
He loved it!
Mom took us to Diane's pool for a swim. Kellie, Eli and Ian joined us!
A fun morning...Ava and Eli were like little fish.
They didn't even want to get out of the water to eat!
Gotta love this face!
My friend from high school, Catie, came by for a visit. She is expecting
her first baby at the end of October. What a sweet visit it was!
We had dinner at Kellie's and Leigh Ann and her boys joined us. It is always an adventure when we all get together. Now there are 6 kids under the age of 4...and five of them are boys. Next year this time we will have 7 kids under the age of 5...and six of them will be boys!
Ava hangs in there though. She does love all of her little "boy friends!"
Enjoying his chocolate pudding!
Picnic in the kitchen
Sweet Walker
Ava and Emet share a bed at Mom and Dad's house.
This is how I found them one night when I went to bed.
So sweet! I couldn't resist taking a picture of them!
We went to Boone for a day. Dad took two days off of work and wanted to do some fun things with the kids. It was great to get to Boone. We had lunch with a friend of mine from growing up, and her sweet little girl. Holli and I grew up on the same street and were childhood best friends. Marina is adorable and she will be a big sister in October. It was great to catch up!
Holli and MeLove the Mountaineers! We took the kids
into the stadium and got one quick pic!
Gem Mining was Dad's idea. What fun it was for the kids to "gem mine."
This was a childhood memory of mine and I thought it was so sweet
that Dad wanted to do this with Ava and Emet!
Finding Treasures
He loved it!
Proud of her findings!
Getting dirty...what else? He liked washing the rocks that
weren't anything special and throwing them into
the big bucket of rocks we didn't keep.
Building with bricks. I have fond memories of
doing this with my Dad. The kids enjoyed it too!
Their finished product!
Science Center
Dad and Mom took us to the Science Center on Friday.
The kids had a blast exploring the exhibits and playing!

Ava got to hold a butterfly in the butterfly garden. She was so excited!
They sprayed sugar water on our fingers to get the butterflies to want to stay!
We enjoyed time with Mom and Dad. It was good to spend some time with them and I know they enjoyed having us there. We look forward to another visit before too much longer!
