"Egg"stra Special Day

Granna and Pops came in last night for a visit. We enjoyed dinner at the house and hanging out with them. Ava was so excited to see them and has loved playing her new "Cars" matching game that Granna gave her. Today was an "egg"stra special day because we had our egg hunt at church. Kids from our church and in our community came for lunch and to look for eggs. It was great! After lunch and the egg hunt, Jon shared the Gospel with the kids and gave away some door prizes. We had a great time!

Ready to Go!!!

At least he tried...but it is hard to hunt eggs when you can't even walk!

She filled her bucket! It is a good thing we have a dentist appointment scheduled for her next month!

Emet is Eleven Months Old!!!

With every passing day, I am reminded of the joys of motherhood. As Emet continues to grow (all too fast, I might add), I try to take in each moment. Today he is eleven months old. He is cruising on the furniture, into playing with any type of ball or car, using push toys to take some steps, loving bath time and being the sweetest little boy a Mommy could ask for!!! He is precious!!!

Eleven Months Old

In the last couple of days we took Emet out of his baby bather. We kept him in it a lot longer than we did Ava...but when he crawled out of it the other night, Jon came and told me that we were done with it! The night he crawled out he was in the bath with Ava and Jon said he crawled all over the tub and loved it! Tonight we got a picture of him in the big bathtub...can you tell he is enjoying himself?

Crocs Giveaway

Do you love Crocs? I have had my Crocs for almost two years...and I do enjoy them. I'm looking forward to the new pair that my Mom picked up for me on one of her trips. They are the mary jane style! If you love your Crocs and are in the market for some new ones...Simple Mom is giving away ten pairs of Crocs.

Last Weekend's Road Trip

The kids and I headed out last Friday for a weekend on the road. We had a great trip and enjoyed every minute! I got to spend time with some of my best friends and celebrate the upcoming birth of Leigh Ann's second little boy, Walker! We arrived at Leigh Ann's in Shelby on Friday afternoon. Kellie and Eli came that evening and met us for dinner. All of us stayed at Leigh Ann's house Friday night...the kids had a blast and I must say us girls enjoyed our time together and catching up. Saturday was Leigh Ann's baby shower. Kellie and I hosted the shower at her house...she got a lot of nice things and is getting close to being ready for Walker's arrival! My kids and I spent Saturday night with Leigh Ann as well. We went to church with them on Sunday, enjoyed celebrating Jason's (Leigh Ann's brother) birthday with their family and then headed up to Boone. We stayed with Tracey and her parents in Boone on Sunday night. Monday morning our friend Sarah, who lives in Colorado and we don't see very much at all, came to Tracey's parents' house to visit with us! What a whirlwind of a trip but it was amazing. I was reminded of how much each of these ladies mean to me and how much I miss living close to them. I am blessed to have such wonderful friends in my life!

Grandkids at the Grandparents'

Nana and Papa sure are brave...they are keeping Ava, Kelsey, Kolson and Carson for two nights! Ava has been so excited to stay at Nana and Papa's and to get to spend time with her cousins. She hasn't stopped talking about it. Today, when it was finally time to go, she was ready and walked out of our house with her backpack on and pillow in hand. It didn't take long for her to jump right in and begin playing. They built a club in Amy's closet...we had to talk about sharing because the girls were trying to keep the boys out...and even had a chance to get in the whirlpool! We also enjoyed a great dinner! It was good to see Kelsey, Kolson and Carson. We got to see Allyson too...she is there until tomorrow, then she heads out for a volleyball tournament. We know Ava will have a blast and can't wait to hear all about her visit!

Kreative Blogger

Thanks Kate for passing on this award...I was surprised and excited to see you had passed it to me! As I think through things that I love, it is hard to come down to just 7....I'm blessed and thankful for so many things in life, but here are 7 that stand out above the rest!

1. My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not of your own doing; it is the gift of God." Ephesians 2:8
I love my Lord and it is my desire to serve and honor him in my life! My prayer is that I would live life in such a way that Christ is exalted!

2. Bubs and my Babies

I love my husband Jon and my sweet little ones, Ava and Emet! I am blessed to have a husband who loves me, encourages me and challenges me daily! My little ones bring so much excitement and joy to my life...there is never a dull moment with them!

3. Family and Friends

People come into our lives for a reason, or we come into theirs, and for the way my family and friends have touched my life I am grateful. My Mom and Dad have always been a constant love and support in my life. Jon's family welcomed me as part of theirs when got married. There are those friends who I know I can call anytime day or night for any reason and they will be there!

4. Photography

I love taking pictures and would one day love to do it as a job. I enjoy taking pictures of most anything, but I'd have to say right now my favorite photo opp would be capturing the special moments with Ava and Emet. A picture is worth a thousand words and I want to remember these days with them as they go by so fast!

5. Football

As an Appalachian State Alumni and the wife of a former ASU football player, this is a given. I love Appalachian Football...game days in Boone, tailgating, and a packed out Kidd Brewer Stadium...GREAT!!! The Mountaineers are the best...back to back to back National Champs, 2005, 2006 and 2007! Clemson football ...I married into a family of die hard Clemson fans...so I do love Clemson football too!

6. Vacations

The beach or the mountains...I love both places. Winter in the mountains and hitting the slopes on a snowboard is my idea of a great winter vacation. Sun, sand and surf...a beach vacation with the people I love is much to be desired!

7. Sun Drop and Sweet Tea

Being raised in the south there are things we eat and drink that you can't get in other areas of our country. I grew up drinking Sun Drop and Sweet Tea and to this day these remain my beverages of choice!

***The Kreative Blogger Award was passed to me and now I am passing it on. Liz, Sheila, Christine, Christy and Melissa I can't wait to hear about the things you love!***
