North Carolina Friends

While we were in North Carolina we were also able to visit with some of our good friends. It was great to see everyone, and even though the visits were short, I'm so thankful for them!

Murray Girls and Chasteen Kiddos
I love these girls and their Mommy (their Daddy too).
Laura (their Mommy) is one of my very good friends from Gorman.
Addi (beside Ava) was Ava's best buddy at Gorman.
We love them, are thankful for them and miss them so much.
It was great to get a short visit with these sweet girls!
We went to Wake Forest and saw the Bonnetts and Vivian. We also got to see Kenneth for a minute at the Seminary. I love and miss them so much. Kristen and Vivian were Ava's first babysitters. Kristen and Kenneth were also our first friends in Seminary. This family is so special to us and we are so thankful for them! Hayley and Elijah have grown up so much!
The Bonnett and Chasteen Kids
I love my dear friend Kristen!
Emet and Kristen
What can I say, these are "my girls." Chelsie and Brittney mean the world to me, Jon and our kids. They are like family to us. I love them so much and miss them like crazy!
So sweet!
We used a timer...not too bad...

Almost 24 Years...

Don was the pastor at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Durham for "Almost 24 Years." We had the privilege of traveling down to North Carolina for his retirement weekend. RBC did a great job on Saturday night sharing memories of Don and Scarlet. The service Sunday was amazing and memorable. I was thankful to be able to share in this special weekend...the entire family made it to Durham for this special time in the lives on Don and Scarlet. It was so very encouraging to see how much RBC loved Don and Scarlet. We know they have had a lasting impact on the lives of the people at Ridgecrest!

Getting ready to board the plane...Owen was an amazing little traveler!

My Sweet Kids

The Past Few Weeks...

We have been very busy around our house the past few weeks...here is a little look at what we have been up to!

We had a day when it was 60 degrees...we took advantage of the warm weather and went out for a walk/bike ride/scooter ride. This was Emet's first time really riding his bike. He needed a lot of help. He hasn't quite mastered the pedals yet, so Jon did a lot of pushing!
Ava's Scooter
She loves Owen!
A night with Daddy...Ava is in the zone, watching a movie...
Emet is also in the zone....
and they are both under the tent!

2 Week Stats

We went for Owen's two week check on Tuesday (he was actually 2 1/2 weeks on Tuesday and is now, as of yesterday 3 weeks old). His pediatrician had nothing but good things to say, and for that I was very thankful. He is gaining weight, growing longer and has good reflexes! He was alert and cooperated the entire time she was checking on him. We are thankful for his health and growth!

Owen's Two Week Stats:
9 pounds and 8 ounces-65%
21.5 inches-70%
Head Circumference 38.5(not inches)-75%

Owen...One Week Later

We have had a wonderful first week with little Owen. He was one week old as of yesterday. What a bundle of joy he. We are beyond blessed by our son. Ava and Emet LOVE him and are great helpers. They want to help me do everything from picking out clothes, to wrapping diapers up, to being "trash man" and taking the diapers to the trash can. I'm thankful that they love him and want to be involved in every aspect of taking care of him. Sometimes even feeding is a family affair...tonight I was feeding Owen with Ava and Emet on either side of me. We are loving every minute with Owen. He has adjusted to being home and for the most part is eating and sleeping well. We are thankful to have Mom here to help. She has done some home improvement projects for us, entertained the kids and cooked. What a blessing! Dad came into town today and we are thankful he was able to make a trip, even if it is just for the weekend. Jon and I are proud parents...of THREE, wonderful, beautiful children. I still can't believe we are a family of five!
