Monster Sale

The Children's Place is having their Monster Sale!!! I wanted to share in case some of you moms out there want to do some shopping. I got the best deals on kids' clothes today! I bought both of my kids clothes for next winter. I did my best "size guessing" and got some cute stuff! All of their winter items in the baby section are $2.99. All of their winter items in the big kids section are $3.99. Plus a nice lady in the store gave me a 15% off coupon! A summary of my shopping excursion would be somewhat like this...

Ava: 5 shirts, 6 pairs of pants, 2 hooded, fur lined sweaters, 9 pairs of panties and a puffy vest...

Emet: 10 pairs of pants, 3 long sleeve t-shirts, 2 hoodies, 1 fleece, 1 long sleeve polo, 1 button up shirt and 2 sweaters

Sleepover

Caleb and Jenna spent the night with us last night and played with us all day today. We got in late after a dinner out with the youth. So the kids were not in bed until 10 or so...when I put them to bed, they all wanted to be on the air mattress. Ava was on one end, Jenna in the middle, and Caleb on the other end. When I checked on them before going to bed, this is what I found...

They were all in different places on the air mattress...not to mention Caleb was doing flips in his sleep! So cute!

Lovin' the Tigers!!!

I surprised Jon with tickets to a Clemson basketball game for Christmas. We went to see the Tigers play NC State on Saturday. Such a fun game to watch...the Tigers beat the Wolfpack in what turned out to be quite a close game (the second half was much closer than the first). The Tigers are doing well and ranked #16 in the polls right now! Go Tigers!

We were close enough to get pictures
Jon and Ava enjoying the game!
Jon and Emet taking time to smile...well at least Jon is smiling!
Emet actually enjoyed the game. He sat through the entire game, watching and of course eating some snacks!
Ava's sign said "I <3 the Tigers!"

Back to Boone...

We were blessed to be able to go back to Boone for a late anniversary trip last week. We left last week after Sunday night church to head up the mountain and back to one of our favorite places. Thanks to Bob and Linda (my uncle and aunt) for letting us use their "mountain room" for a couple of nights. What a blessing! We enjoyed time in town, driving around, a nice dinner at the Best Cellar and snowboarding at Beech Mountain. We celebrated our 6th anniversary. It's hard to believe that it has been six years...but our time together has been great. The Lord has blessed our marriage, given us two beautiful children and to that we are thankful!

*Sorry we have no snowboarding pictures. It was sooooooo cold! (16 degrees) I could hardly feel my fingers, even in my gloves. It was also extremely foggy...not great picture taking weather. We are taking the youth snowboarding in a couple of weeks...so hopefully we will have some cute boarding pics after that trip!

Home to Hickory

We left on December 23rd to go home to Hickory for some time with Mom and Dad. Jon was excited to get the kids into the snow (which had fallen on the 18th and was still there). Jon and the kids went sledding in the back yard...fun times. We enjoyed playing Wii, eating good food, making cookies, building with blocks and playing cards while we were home. We of course too, loved giving Granna and Pops their gifts. Thank you to them for the sweet gifts to us. Thank you too for watching the kids so Jon and I could enjoy an anniversary dinner. I was able too, to catch up with Leigh Ann, Kellie and their boys while we were home. These are two precious ladies, with beautiful boys and I love them all dearly. It was good to be home for a few days!

Dad spent time with Ava building with the bricks. Dad had these as a kid, played them with me as a kid and now is enjoying sharing them with Ava. Thanks Mom for working so hard to clean and sanitize them!
Dad and Ava had a blast!
Making Cookies
When Kellie, Leigh Ann and I (plus 5 kids) get together it is always a photo op...or we at least attempt. This time was no different. We did get a couple of good shots, but the majority of our pictures capture "true moments" of what it is like when we try to get a decent picture. Most of you moms will understand...
Not too bad...

Love these ladies...Kellie and Leigh Ann are my best friends from college and I love them dearly. They are amazing women and great moms to their little boys.
I'm blessed to them in my life!
